Texas student left homeless for three years graduates among top of his class

Liyjon DeSilva was left homeless for three years following the death of his mother has graduated among the top of his class. DeSilva said, “I had no family, I was homeless, I went through child abuse, I went through my family using drugs.”

He lost his mother at the age of five and ended up staying with a number of different relatives but he eventually ended up living on the streets

Liyjon DeSilva graduated among the top 5 per cent in his class and is now set to go to college after being granted a scholarship. His guidance counselor, Jessica Smith, set up a crowdfunding page to raise funds to help pay for his expenses at college. So far, they have raised more than 18,000.
